Android-System. 👇
https://www.kuketz-blog.de/grapheneos-der-goldstandard-unter-den-android-roms-custom-roms-teil7/
I, like so many others have a huge struggle to fully open my hands to hold my pixel9, in the last days I've been playing with a pixel 5 and it was a real relief for my hands!
So I'm wondering, what limits #GrapheneOS in trying to keep the smallest pixel alive?
Which could make many users happy who can't find a pocket model at the moment and #Graphene could fill again another giant hole in the phone industry.
Could benefit the elderly and who don't need/want a flat tv in their pocket
So I actually would say this is a fair transparent offer. That Lineage has security concerns can be a good additional information. But it does not take away any of the value of the original offer.
Therefore I see @GrapheneOS comment as agressive and no real support of #grapheneos nor #privacyand #security .
It is attacking claims that have not been made. Like when I would say to drink a coffee and then you want me not to drink it because of the bad effects of smoking on my health. Complete misdirected critique.

At some point companies bullshit should be made public. This is what #grapheneos is doing.
I'm french, I used Mandrake. But when Gael makes advertisement for his /e/ project telling it's not Android and other bullshit. I'm not happy. I loose trust.
We had Qwant bullshit and /e/ is on the same road.
They have to reach a critical mass to exist. I feel Tesla is their marketing model.

@javensbukan @GrapheneOS
GOS' hardware support isn't the joke. They hold strict hardware requirements for a reason: security. The joke is on all the other phone manufacturers leaving out relevant hardware components, I assume to reduce costs.

Zapraszam do lektury!
https://wolnoscwkieszeni.pl/grapheneos-taki-powinien-byc-android/
#grapheneos #privacy #security #degoogle #android #foss

GmsCompatConfig is the text-based configuration for the GrapheneOS sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer. It provides a large portion of the compatibility shims.

@Gina Servo, because we need more web browser options. The BSDs for regular computing, and Graphene OS for mobile. I want to dig into mobile Linux again as well, it has been a few years, and I bet that they have made some progress!

@GrapheneOS @gkcan @richarddebruin @sandradejong
I didn't say video necessarily. #eOS has only images, (unless there are also videos somewhere where I didn't see them.
It might seem annoying that I keep comparing #GrapheneOS with #eOS, but this not only my opinion that a welcoming homepage matters. Ask @sandradejong, for example.
@GrapheneOS @gkcan @richarddebruin @sandradejong
“They're not trying GrapheneOS but rather describing it based on what others say.”
I understand this, but #GrapheneOS's homepage is also a factor that influences their opinions, as I said here:
https://social.vivaldi.net/@ThePfromtheO/114823736413376203
Also this: https://mastodon.nl/@sandradejong/114823623342107933
@richarddebruin @gkcan @sandradejong
One thing that reinforced this in my mind is its website. #eOS's for example, shows screenshots of the operating system, while #GrapheneOS's homepage only has one picture, and the rest is text. And I think you understand what kind of impression this leaves…
@richarddebruin @sandradejong
#GrapheneOS is safer, but it's also less #userFriendly than #eOS, AFAIK. Plus #eOS looks a little more like #iOS.

@GrapheneOS but they won't because integrating #Govware #Backdoors that are exploitable is what keeps them in business and allows for #Export & #Import in markets like #Russia, #SaudiArabia and others with #Cyberfacist rules.
The only way #GrapheneOS is not going to get #shafted (i.e. licensed #MacintoshClones like #PowerComputing did when #SteveJobs took over Apple) is by basically not being dependent on Google's "benevolence" and instead collaborate with other vendors.
-Maybe @frameworkcomputer would be interested in doing a secure #Abmndroid-based #Smartphone that is actually repairable?
IDK but this will require a longterm strategic decision, as "bitchin' about it" won't change anything...

Hi #GrapheneOS!
Update, I used my Debian latop and downloaded the chrome browser, GrapheneOS successfully installed on my 9a.
