I have a good friend, for real, that is slowly going #blind. Is there a good plugin for #thunderbird
to read emails without involving a #bigCorp ?
I'm thinking of
1) Open email in window,
2) click button that says "read aloud"
She is not blind yet, this would be like training wheels to get her use to using a screen reader while she can still see a little.

New blogpost: Blocking searches and removing other people's toots: my Mastodon server and the Online Safety Act
My attempts at trying to close off some of the loopholes in my Mastodon server:
nginx configuration to limit access to the search tool, which can be used to essentially proxy content from other servers
learning how to delete toots, and media, from the database, so that it is no longer on my instance. Blunt but effective?
Free/libre software, hardware, and ideals is building the next Space Age. Here are this week's four free/libre space resources that are worth exploring:
So you want to fight fascism and make a difference right now? Do this:
Join Codeberg e.V. – become part of the organisation; part of the resistance – and actively support this valuable and ethical EU-based anti-fascist git hosting alternative that’s under attack by fascists as we speak:
Seriously, do it now.
Volunteer and/or donate if you can.
Let’s send Codeberg’s membership through the roof and show these fucking fascists that when they push we push back twice as hard.
When you do, please add your voice to this thread so others can see.
I rarely ask this but please repost this far and wide.
